UUM's convocation 28th March

Kalau nak recap perjalanan MBA ku ni, rasanyer tulis 3 hari 2 malam pon tak habis cewahhh...

Oct 2006 - start enrol MBA. Masa tu idlan baru setahun 10 bulan. Ku masih ingat, every time nak pegi klas, dia mesti nangis nak ikut, pegang2 grill tu sambil tgk mama drive kluar dr porch. Sayu rasa. Tinggallah dia kat rumah dgn abah. Abah la yg tolong mandikan, suap makan, bancuh susu...pendek kata sumer benda buat dgn abah every weekend. Lama2 terus dia rapat dgn abah.

April 2007 - conceived adik idlan. Lucky tade morning sickness n watnots. Ikutkan due date 31 Jan 2008, which means aku kena defer study time pantang nanti.

9 July 2007 - confirm miscarriage. Spotting kluar right after aku sit for 0ne of my final paper. tak ingat paper ape. Tapi yg pasti, even tho dah kuar spotting, nak sedapkan hati dinner tu kami kuar pi Jusco nak tenangkan fikiran :p Esok tu pegi klinik jumpa gynae, terus kena buat D&C. The following week pegi ke klas seperti biasa, no pantang2 whatsoever. Classmate pon ramai tak tahu aku pregnant, apetah lagi miscarriage.

Nov 2007 - alhamdulillah conceived again. Due date 15 August 2008. Pregnancy kali ni very smooth-sailing...tade morning sickness, baby baik je dlm perut. Peneman setia mama ke kelas. Indirectly dia dah blajar decision analysis, economics, finance, accounting, etc. Gempak baby mama...very the advanced gitu hehehe

27 July 2008 - alhamdulillah submission of my last final paper - corporate finance. MERDEKA!

And exactly a week after that, on the Olympic day, Firas was born into this world. Semoga bijak bila dah besar nanti ok!!!

See, in summary mmg short je....tapi penat jerih sepanjang setahun 9 bulan tu Tuhan je yg tahu hehe.

Apa2 pon, ku takkan dpt jejak kaki ke atas stage tu tanpa pengorbanan si suami tercinta. Dia la yg remind aku suruh buat assignment, dia yg tolong jaga idlan, dia la yg keep on kasi physical and moral support. Ikutkan hati, harus ku ponteng klas banyak2 :p

Thank you soooo much B...you're my one and only. The kids must be proud to have a father like u. Takde pruzz, takderlah yatipruzz :p

jatuh lagik?

Anak teruna ku jatuh katil lagi pagi kelmarin!

In fact yang ke-3 kali dah...adoilaaa am truly a bad momma :(

Walaupun katil dah penuh kena kepung all sides, nampak gaya dia dah berjaya panjat bantal tu dan terjun tiruk dr katil kami.

Dan pagi tadi ku tinggalkan dia dlm baby cot sementara bersiap ke opis.

Jenguk bilik, tengok2 dia dah berpaut ke tepi cot tuh, kepala dah jenguk2 ke bwh.

Adus hampir luruh jantungku..mujur tak terjun tiruk dari cot!

Nasib ku pantas..kalo idak nauzubillah.

Belum masuk 8 bln, tapi ku kira si adik ni agak advance....

meyusur still belum laju dan expert,

tapi dah sibuk angkat punggung dan praktis hikmat menyengetkan diri.

Ku agak dia mahu blajar merangkak dan duduk kots..2 in 1 at a time :)

Oh satu lagi, dah pandai menyembur2 kan air liur dgn jayanyer.

p/s: nota utk diri sendiri, berat dia 7.4kg....makin lama makin tak naik...maintain kecik comei je.

Firas now is having another series of cough and cold again. Such a short gap i'd say, after the warded episode in February. This time around the paed spared us with ventolin, singulair and prednisolone, and also zyrtec for his cold. Seems like it's going to be a never-ending circle, considering the exposure to the bugs and the likes is always there (read: nursery). I hope his immunity will get stronger once he hits his one-year mark. Needless to say, i guess we're more prepared this time, as we had the same experience during idlan's time.

On a happier note, Firas can menyusur ke depan already, but of course still in a slow pace :) At times he try to push up his buttocks, more towards preparing himself to set into sitting position. Bagus adik, keep it up!

We'll be heading up north this upcoming weekend for my convocation. Elated, yet the excitement somehow lessen since firas is not feeling well. In fact our initial plan to spend a night at bukit merah also has been cancelled. Oh despite that i've bought two new clothes for the convo. First i got this pink kurung pahang (thank you B! ...tudung siap pinjam mak punyer lagik tuh) but a visit to jusco last week saw me fell in love with a green sateen kebaya plak. Adus, the peril of knowing your bonus money in advance :p And upps did i mention a new pair of black shoes? That actually was not in my list, but somehow inside the circular they had mention that graduans are required to wear black shoes, and my existing one satu dah patah heels, another one is opened at the front hence dun think it suits with the ceremony kan? Me and my reasoning hehehe pepe jela damages done anyway! But being a good mom the kids also had their fair share...idlan lagi best, dpt kasut baru gak tadi (thank you abah :) bley geng ngan mama :p

Picture taken on Feb 2007, which means Idlan was 2 yrs and 2 months old during that time. How time flies eh? At that point he's a fanatic fan of Mr Incredible, hence he dragged the bag even during nappy time. Notice mr spidey in the pic? One leg already broken. And ohhh...idlan still kurus that time...obviously different from today :)

diarrhea - 2nd part

Firas’s diarrhea was getting worsen on Saturday, he even vomitted each time after taking milk and solid. Lethargic sungguh dia ari tuh …terus kempis perut anak mama huhu. At last after careful thoughts I decided to stop giving him EBM and replaced it with free-lactose formula. In fact the doc had said earlier that FL would be the best solution (apart from the medication) when your kids suffered from severe diarrhea. Notwithstanding that he didn’t ask me to stop bf, but bf wouldn’t help much since no matter how rigid I control my food intake, the lactose will still present in my milk. Medication will not work at its best with the presence of lactose, and some more the intestines are not capable of digesting it. I remembered idlan had once got a severe diarrhea, condition and symptoms exactly the same with what firas is having, only that we fed him with FL milk for 2 consecutive weeks.

So, that means at 7 months++ firas already had his first taste of formula (yeah u may blame me but I think at this point that’s the best decision I’ve take), abah bought NL-33 Marinaga, a Japanese brand which I’ve never heard before but the only small tin avail at the supermarket. Right after consuming the formula he looks better, no more vomitting until today. This morning I supplied my ebm as usual to the nursery, and informed them to stop giving ebm if he passes watery stool again.

With firas consuming formula from Saturday afternoon till yesterday, that gave me opportunity to top up my supply. Ada hikmahnyer tuh kan…alhamdulillah freezer kembali padat :) Tapi yg tak syok, my Swing has gone bengong la…dunno what went wrong but the suction power is not as strong as before. Not sure whether problem is with the motor, or any parts of the pump. Tensi giler. If usually I take about 10-15min per session, this morning one session alone dragged for almost an hour :( Letih makcik…at last I resorted to manual expression…lagi cepat! Aduhai Swing ku…kalau nak buat hal pon, tunggula at least after a year mu buat hal….jgn la skang nih huhuhu

Firas kena cirit-birit since semalam. Padanla malam tadi dia buat rekod, instead of his regular 5-6x, dia bangun dekat 10x kots...memang lalok mama dibuatnyer :p He passed frequent watery stools, a very greenish one, even tho today i didnt feed him any solid (read:vege). Anyway today we visited the doc for the 2nd time, and this time he prescribed an antibiotic. He said probably firas contacted a rotavirus, but when i google the net, dont think it has to do with rota since he didn't show any signs of having one, like fever and vomitting. Pepe pon hopefully he'll recover over the weekend since the virus (if it's rota) can be very contagious.

Just for my personal note, he now moves in circles already, at times try to angkat2 punggung, but very minimal attempt i'd say. Malas kot :p He takes 21-23oz ebm daily, and that requires me to put super extra effort to reach to that level. My daily output is only about 17-19oz, lucky i have sufficient stocks in freezer, kalo idak dah lama tersungkur huhu. I still prepare his home-made solid on daily basis, usually at 6am dah start masak porridge dia. My hubby also plays a part whereby he'll be the one who blends and puree the food while me pakai tudung. Menu to date limited to rice+dates/carrots/brocolli only. Tomorrow i plan to puree some applesauce for him, used to be Idlan's favourite dedulu :)

Citer si abang plak, recently macam kurang selera, and dah tak minum susu kat nursery due to peer pressure kot (budak 5 taun majority tak minum susu dah :p) Buku Qiraati still at no 2, anakku no 6...nevermind dear take your time. At least you know how to recite doa masuk toilet, doa pakai baju, etc unlike mama...hampeh tak tahu langsung hehe. Sangat protective terhadap si adik....nevertheless pantang kalo adik amik favourite toys dia, reason being adik sumer benda akan hisap and masuk dlm mulut. Abang ape lagi, geli giler la bila adik hisap power rangers dia ke patung2 lain ker....

anyway MAS ade offer discount for tix to Gold Coast for TM's staff....agak2 ok ke rege tu eh?

baking class

Penat banget dan tak cukup masa!
That’s what I can conclude from last Saturday’s baking class @ Yummie.
From 1030am up till 545pm, brape jam tu berdiri lenguh2 kaki rasa.
Pergi solat pon cepat2, pump pon cepat2, lunch pon express giler…sumer gara2 excited nak blajar!
Tapi overall, mmg puas hati even tho class tak cover covering big cake with fondant.

So ape yg ku blajar from Chef Asma?
Buat butter cupcake, buttercream icing, royal icing, fresh fondant, coloring fondant, covering fondant cup cakes, gum paste, and last but not least, cara2 wat gum paste flowers. Tang tu makan paling byk masa…yela sumer tak expert, terkial2 nak buat bunga walaupun sekuntum :p

Pepe pon, ilmu still tak cukup…dan aku still tak konfiden nak buat fondant wedding cake. Rasanye kena pegi class khas utk cover fondant cake sahaja…baru puas! Chef Asma cuma ajar cover cup cake with fondant…tu pon cupcake ku tak kemas, and ade fondant yg terpecah hehehe. Padanla org charge mahal utk wedding cake…nak buatnyer, mak aiii penuh dgn seni dan kena extra careful nak menghandle fondant itu! Memang kena ade patience and passion..kalo idak confirm takkan menjadi :p

Anyway, class harga RM180...agak murah compared to other classes yg pernah ku survey before this.
Sape minat bley mintak full class schedule dari Yummie...bulan March nyer schedule belum kluar lagi kots.

Dan ni adelah my latest baking tool...gum paste tool set tu rege nyer RM143.50...mahal bangets kan?? anyway sume barang2 Wilton mmg mahal :p Rasanye so far i've spent more than thousand for baking tools...tu belum masuk kalo nak upgrade oven wink wink* Hopefully satu masa nanti boley la ROI balik sumer cost2 yg dah di spent kan ini :) Tool set tu baru guna sket...actually ku sendiri tak brape paham lagi function for each tool...beli semata2 utk class ni tau hoho. Tunggula bila ade masa baru bley explore...nak wat gum paste flower kena duk dediam sehari suntuk belek benda tuh je...tak bley ade intervention...idak for sure payah nak concentrate :p
