Honestly i can't remember when was the last time i baked this cake. It's my favourite, as well as hubby's, and also my family :) This time around i received a message from my neighbour 2 days ago, asking whether i still do the baking. Haha probably because of my lesser (or actually NO) updates at all on the cake pictures either in blog or FB. Blame it to the laden office works, that i seriously forget my interest on other things including baking.
Anyway this jiran of mine asked if i could bake a cake for her only daughter. Going to be 3 yrs tomorrow. She wanted the same cake that i baked for her hubby early this year. That is the devil's food cake. Disukai ramai katanya :) So here we go..a devil's cake for her daughter..but with a more colorful appearance :p
comel kan? ada bentuk duck, strawberry, nenas, pisang, bulan, star, etc. I bought this sugar candy masa bulan puasa hari tuh. Tgh cari bahan buat biskut ternampak benda alah nih...ahh kiutnye cannot resist not to buy! hehe
Full view DFCC. It's a chocolate cake sandwiched with cream cheese in the middle. And covered with cream cheese for the whole cake. Later i have choc ganache poured on it. sgt sinful! and marbeles! I use Beryl's milk chocolate compound this time...sambil potong the chocolate bar tu sambil ngappp...ishh sedap betul beryl's nih...next time kalau buat biskut cornflakes chocolate harus guna brand Beryl's! 1kg going for RM12 only..not bad la kiranya.
ok peeps, Selamat Hari Merdeka! Esok korang pi tgk perbarisan ker??? hehe

Phuket Day 3 - Phi Phi Island
Now is the highlight of our trip, that is snorkeling! We
were taken by the minibus to a jetty, where we boarded the ferry around 830am.
It was such a huge ferry, can fit 150 passenger at one particular time..ala-ala
macam feri Langkawi gitu. We then only knew that the journey to the snorkeling spot
is about 1.5 hours..blerghhh that was too long and boring ok!! Had we knew this
earlier we would probably take a speedboat instead, which at most will take about
½ hour only. Adoi menyesal! But the price for speedboat of course is more
expensive, but it’s very private and suitable for those travelling in small
groups. For the price that we paid earlier, we were given free-flow drinks (hot
n cold) and snacks (its cheese cake is very delish!). The counter inside the
ferry also sells lotsa snacks including maggie, biscuits and chocolates. By
taking the ferry, we also just learn the fact that we can only go for snorkeling
at one particular spot only i.e. in Monkey beach. The rest of the journey was
just sight-seeing and touring around some small island like Maya beach (the
most beautiful island as it claimed where it features the ‘Beach’ film) and ape
lagi ntah nama beach I forgot already. Arghh tension lagik…snorkeling sekali je
apa kes??? geram geram geram but what to do, our fault that we did not ask in
detail when doing the booking for island tour package earlier grrrrrrrrrr. Nak
sampai pulau dah 1.5hr, then snorkeling at one spot within an hour? yes u read
me within an hour only…geram sgt okeh. My dear Firas and Ammar slept for few
minutes before we reached the snorkeling spot…bosan sgt kot tunggu lambat nak
sampai.

Our package already included the snorkeling gear i.e. mask,
life jacket and google. I went down with hubby for snorkeling, while nek umi
wathing over my kids…tq nek umi! To our frustration, nothing much can be found under
the sea. Same color of fish (blue and yellow stripey) again and again, and dead
single color coral. No living coral was spotted at all. Tension lagik? haha
sudah semestinya! It wasn’t a good experience to us, and I believe to everyone
who booked for the package. I think that tour guide had bring us to a wrong
spot…tak cantik langsung! Redang is 10x nicer than this Phi Phi Island! But
again you must’ve heard that lotsa people said Phuket is nice. well probably those
people went for snorkeling via a speedboat, and they managed to go to secluded
and much nicer spot than us. So salahkan feri yg besar gabak tu haha! Oh anyway
Idlan did went down into the sea using my life jacket, but he refused to use
the google..lemas katanya hehe so dia floating jela. Same to Mawaddah, sakan
swimming and floating guna life jacket :)
So then after we had ‘enough’ of snorkeling within the
allocated 1 hr time, we then headed to Phi Phi Island/Phi Phi Don for lunch.
Had our lunch at Princess Restaurant…they served wide spread of buffet
considered ok la…ada spaghetti Bolognese, nasi putih with ayam masak lemak,
drummet, sup sayur, sayur campur, tembikai, hot n cold drinks. We had to pay
20baht/adult for entry into the Phi Phi Island, kids are FOC. There are quite a
number of stalls and shops selling souvenirs and local-made items, but we didn’t
have enough time to scout around. Right immediately after lunch we took the
kids to the beach to play pasir and mandi-manda. Pity the kids as majority of
them didn’t go for snorkeling, cuma menunggu atas boat je huhu. It was blazing
hot that time, mmg matahari tegak atas kepala…tak larat nak mandi lama-lama. We
were asked to return to the ferry at 2.20pm, so rushing pegi toilet to shower
and change the kids. Diri sendiri tak sempat nak change pon sbb queue panjang!

otw back to Phuket jetty...terpaksa duk luar sbb dalam penuh. Seat patutnya cukup, tapi ada org selfish siap conquer 2-3 seats sorang utk baring and tido..hampes! |
majority slept thru out the journey back to jetty..penat sgt! okla ai pon dah penat type...tbc ok :) |
Phuket Day 2
Before i forget, this is the picture of our minibus. sgt selesa and canggih!
Day
2 started off pretty late. We promised to meet up with our tour driver at
1030am for the city-tour. Hence took the chance to have a short stroll towards
Patong beach and its surrounding. We didn’t see many people, probably because
it was still early in the morning. There were few dogs at the beach, but they don’t
disturb human (lucky!). Patong beach is not that beautiful as what we expected
or always heard from people…I’d say nothing much to shout about..so-so jer. So
pusing2 and taking few pictures of our family…then it started to rain with
occasional strong heavy winds..harus lari laju kembali ke hotel!

The driver arrived on time,
so then we hop on the minibus to start off the tour. First destination is
souvenir shop located in Phuket town. Can’t remember the shop name. The owner
is Indonesian (they really brilliant eh kat thai wat biz kat aussie pon pandai
wat biz!) and he claimed that his shop sells the cheapest t-shirt in town. But
later during our last night we figure out that his is not the cheapest!!! sgt
bengang rasa okeh!! We bought 5 t-shirts in his shop. Adult 169baht, kids
129-139baht. Then I got myself a small pouch bag at 129baht. Also a fridge
magnet at 39baht. Mahal jugak FM tuh…bengang lagi! Anyway this shop also got
printing service at the back of the shop ala2 small factory. They sell
wholesale t-shirts and supposedly it must be cheaper than retail la kan tapi
tidakkkk. Takperla lesson learnt, yg pasti never trust the tour guide or driver
as they must have received a certain % of commission for tourists like us.

After that we asked the
driver to take us to Premium Outlet..ala2 JPO dekat mesia where the place
houses lotsa high end boutique ranging from Nike, Adidas, Crocs, Wacoal, etc. Kind
of excited this time as I plan to get a sneaker shoe or casual shoe for outing.
Tapi agak hampa okeh..the prices are quite expensive, not as cheap as it should
be…at least outlet kat hong kong and perth lagi murah. Adidas or Nike kat
al-ikhsan pon lagi murah haha. So after
hours of searching and looking for items I ended up buying 1 blouse only at
399baht. Dah selamat rasmi pon hehe. My bro bought a pair of Crocs for his son…around
RM20 cheaper than Malaysia. So in conclusion, you can choose not to stop at
this Premium Outlet pon, not worth the time and money.
so this is the Premium Outlet
Next stop is lunch!! Perut
sudah lapar banget hehe. The driver pulled a stop at one of restaurants along
the road (cannot remember which road and the restaurant name). We had sup daging,
sayur, ikan pari asam pedas (very think I like!!), 1pcs fried chicken and 3 teh-o
ais and paid for 270baht only! super cheap kan…dalam RM4 satu kepala. My bro had kerabu mangga…sgt sedap jugakkk. Lepas
perut kenyang dan hati gembira we headed to a mosque to perform our solat jamak
Zohor/Asar.
Then the driver suggested for
us to go to cashew nut factory. Konon macam tempat wajib bila sampai Phuket
nih. Okla the factory sells lotsa of cashew nuts in lotsa flavor – hot, buttered,
salted, tom yam, sesame seeds, BBQ and many more. Kenyang ok pulun tester dia
haha…dah kasik free kan pulun jangan tak pulun. Apart from selling cashew nuts
this place also sell dried asam jeruk, some keropok, ikan bilis, tom yam gravy
and also some souvenirs. Haa FM kat sini quite cheap, dlm 25baht only! After
puas do all the testing and whatnots, we ended up buying 2 bottles and 1 medium
packet of cashew nuts…nk beli bebyk takleh
mahal sgt!

Our last stop of the day is
Kusuma Seafood Restaurant, that is for dinner. Sgt glamer ini restoran tau,
highly recommended by many forumers. Lucky sgt dekat with our hotel, around 5
min walking distance. So we ordered tomyam gung (sgt sedappp but very spicy as
well), sotong goreng tepung (sgt sedappp menjilat jari!) kalian ikan masin, and
kerapu bakar (so-so jer, dia nyer marinate tak best tapi ikan sgt fresh!).
Total is 2650baht – but that includes my bro’s order as well…cant remember his
but for sure ade tomyam, sayur campur and nasi goreng ketam. Tq to nek umi
sebab blanjer kami! hehe. Overall rating 8/10…food sedap, price murah! Oh they
also sell lobster tau..if not mistaken RM150/kg…

Our catch of the day at kilang t-shirt
cashew nuts yg sgt sedap...yg pedas and perisa bijan tu superb! Botol 195baht, packet 175baht. Yang salted and buttered biasa jela.
posing maut dari ammar yg masih galok and aktif walaupon org lain dah flat!
Balik bilik lepas solat and
refresh terus tido. Nek umi went down to the hotel spa for facial and body
massage at 1000baht. Katanya massage ok, tapi facial biasa2 jer.
