Hargailah mereka....

sementara hayat masih ada. Seorang rakan sempat berpesan dlm whatsapp kami...hargailah ibu bapa anda...selagi mereka masih ada. juga adik-beradik...dan saudara mara kita. Bila dah tiada, pasti akan terkenang. Pasti akan terbit rasa sesal...kenapalah dulu jarang call mak bapak. kenapalah dulu aku tak belikan baju tu utk mak. kenapalah dulu aku degil taknak dgr cakap ayah...etc.

Namun jika mereka sudah pergi...rajin2lah titipkan doa buat mereka. agar mereka mendpt sedikit pelepasan semasa dlm proses perhitungan dari Dia. Bila kita meninggal, antara 3 perkara yg dpt membantu kita...solat, doa dr anak yg soleh..dan segala amal jariah kita.

Selalu ku pesan kpd si sulung...kalau sekolah atau cikgu minta derma...jgn lupa kasi. 10 sen pon takpe..janji ikhlas. Jangan sombong dgn anak yatim...kawan dgn mereka...bantulah mereka. Lagi byk yg kita hulur...lagi banyak yg Allah akan balas dan janjikan utk kita di masa depan. Nabi Muhammad sendiri sudah menjadi anak yatim ketika 2 bln di dlm kandungan Aminah...kemudian jadi yatim piatu tatkala berumur 6 tahun. Pd umur 8 tahun, datuknya pula pergi meninggalkan baginda. Namun Nabi masih boleh menjadi org yg berjaya. Jadi ikutlah akhlak Nabi...yg sentiasa sayang dan kasih pd kanak2...juga menghormati org tua dan para sahabat.

moral of the story utk hari ini...takpe shopping sket2....asalkan dpt membahagiakan org lain. peace!! :)

Biskut Sarang Semut dan Almost Famos Amos Chocolate Chips Chunk Cookies

Ok projek biskut raya #3 adalah Biskut Sarang Semut. Biskut oldies kiranya...ala-ala tak lapuk ditelan zaman hehe. Bahan-bahan agak sempoi (kan semlm saya dah ckp tahun ni semua buat biskut sempoi je...takde masa nak merenyahkan diri!)...resepi saya amik dari blog chef Hanieliza again. Memang dulu dah pernah try buat sekali...rasa sedap..so kali ni stick pada resepi chef yg sama :) Tak berapa manis sangat, gebu, dan bebudak pasti suka (mak budak apetah lagi akakaka).

Cantik dan meriah kan u ols! Manik yg colorful tu baru beli dari kedai 99 Speedmart..habis adunan sarang semut manik pon habis..just nice :) Saya buat 2 adunan...so dpt dlm 3 balang tak silap. Chocolate rice baru beli kirim kat farra...byk lagi yg lebih, lepas ni buat chocolate cake kita pakat tabur choc rice jela bebyk hehe

Kali kedua saya ikut resepi Rima dari bisousatoi.com. Biskut dia mmg wangi, dia ada special steps yg membuatkan aroma coffee tu harum semerbak ala2 famos amos :p So kalau nak tahu, ha pegi cepat jenguk blog Rima. Saya buat 2 version...version kecik comel standard size...satu lagi............
 
Chocolate chips chunk cookies version gemoks!! Saja buat besar2 konon nk macam cookie Subway tuh...chewy dan tidak rangup ala2 lemau tapi sebenarnya bukan lemau..haha paham tak ayat saya nih?

Antara hasil kerahan tenaga selama 4 hari...adalah dlm 14 balang in total kalau tak silap...bengkok pinggang mak tauuu!

Ok lagi seminggu dah nak raya...bermakna lagi seminggu besday saya dan Firas!! Ish dah nak makin tua dah kan hoho. Hadiah besday sampai sekarang masih belum muncul idea nak beli apa. Ada ke org tu nak belikan saya beg Deuter hiking 40 Litre tuh..ish mana kelas hadiah besday beg Deuter...tu dia kena beli sendiri before cuti2 korea kami nanti :p Dalam hati teringin nak beli jam baru...dah lama aim jam CK ala bracelet tali halus bentuk elegant giler tuh...tapi harga dia pon oppss whooppss a whopping 700 bucks for a watch arghh giler bila pk! haha Nak beli handbag, hmm dah takde keperluan lagi sekarang ni sebab pegi ofis dah jaranggggg amats bawak handbag. Mana tak asyik kena usung beg laptop ke hulu ke hilir..sakit bahu den yg sudah semakin tua nih...dahlah susu malas minum :p Agak2 kalau korang jadi saya, apakah hadiah besday yg korang harapkan pada tahun ini?? cer citer sket kalo rajin yer macehhh :)

Projek Biskut Raya #1 dan 2 - Cornflakes coklat dan cornflakes madu

Ok bila dah masuk minggu ke-2 Ramadhan, haruslah gigih utk start projek biskut raya. Almaklum kena buat sikit2..nak buat byk sekaligus dalam masa sehari confirm i tak larat :p Ditambah lagi dengan bantuan sukarela yg dioffer oleh junior2 assistant di rumah tuh...hmm harus kena ada back up plan dan buffer!

Tahun ni decide utk buat biskut yg senang2 jer....kata orang biskut buat amateur. Semperit confirm out of list tahun nih...akak dah serik u ols terpaksa berdiri dan menunduk nak picit dough tu keluar dari tip semperit. Sakit pinggang dan kaki nak menghabiskan 1 adunan...ohhh bila difikirkan dan dikenang...cukup cukup sudahhhh! Walaupun sebenarnya semperit mmg biskut favourite i sedari dulu...bila pergi beraya rumah orang mesti balang kuih semperit yg di aim kan...biskut lain tak berapa pandang cewahhh berlagak :p

Projek dimulakan dgn memotong almond whole...huish azab rupanya nak potong benda alah ni jadi kecik. Saje carik pasal ye dik non! Actually boleh je nk beli almond nibs yg sedia dijual dekat kedai barang kek, tapi akak teramatla malas nak keluar dan bersesak2 dlm kedai tuh...considering stok almond whole ni banyak (mak yg kasik beli kat mekah dulu), maka bertabahlah hati caiyo caiyo!! Lepas dpt 1/2 cup, terus stop dan tidur haha! sakit pinggang tau...serius tak tipu..tangan pon lenguh :( Sape yg tak cukup tabah, lupakan lah hasrat suci murni nk potong2 almond ni jadi kecik...dia keras tak macam walnut atau pecan. Pegi jela kedai beli yg dah siap!

Selepas tidur hampir 2 jam (wahhh lamanya usah dipersoalkan yer!), maka kugagahkan diri utk start projek biskut raya nih. Kids dah bising actually..mama bila nak start...mama cakap pukul 2pm nak start...mama cepat lah....etc etc..ok ok kidssss mama bangun sekarang!!

Gambar mama in action tgh kacau2 dlm kuali malas nak amik. Ni jom layan gambar kids in action hehe. Alhamdulillah ada bebudak ni utk tolong mana yg patut. Sambil i kacau cornflakes dlm kuali, diorang boleh asing2kan small cups tu satu persatu...then diorang tolong tabur manik/almond nibs dlm cups tuh. Considered sgt2 membantu jugaklah :) Sekali sekala mama toleh jugak ke belakang tgk are they doing ok? hehe

Kejap dia ok, kejap bila naik mood tak ok, dia pegi main baling2 cup tu dekat abang no. 2..ada sekali tuh sampai terduduk atas cup2 comel ku huwaaarghh naik suara jugakla mama time tuh..mmg menguji kesabaran bila ramai assistant kat dapur nih :p Kadang dia pegi kacau cup2 yg abang no. 1 dah susun cantik dlm loyang..mana tak marah kawan tuh bila si adik kacau arrangement dia hehe. kesimpulannya, mmg syok kalau derang ni tolong kat dapur, tapi bila depa start bergaduh, huish rasa tensi jugak si mama nya! Terpaksa kawal suara dan nafsu nak marah hoho. Nevertheless, utk projek biskut yg seterusnya i tetap ajak derang tolong...sebab derang mmg suka and were soooo looking forward nak tolong mama buat biskut raya! isk tak sampai hati kalau tak involve kan derang nih :) Kata orang, melentur buluh biarlah dari rebungnya. Haaa tahun depan mama dera korang buat biskut susah2 ok...bole kite try menyemperitkan diri nx year hihi

Dan bila close up gambar biskut coklat cornflakes ku ini, haa baru perasan betapa byknya sprinkles aka manik2 yg dibubuh oleh junior assistants ku! Ohhh ni semua mesti kerja si kecik tuh! Dahlah manik tinggal sikit...terpaksa catu tau...isk isk satu hal kalo kena keluar beli lain malasnyaaa

ada bubuh manik, ada bubuh almond nibs :)  Almond nibs kena catu, sbb mama plan nak bubuh tu dlm biskut chocolate chips next week. Nak repeat proses memotong almond jd kecik halus konfem i tak rela dahhh

Anyway, i takde resepi khas utk biskut nih. Bahan2 dia sempoi je...cairkan butter, then off api. Bubuh coklat and kacau sampai coklat cair. i guna milk chocolate, then 2nd round saja test guna dark chocolate...both taste ok and sedap! Nak lagi sedap buh almond nibs dalam batter tuh. Last sekali buh cornflakes and kacau rata. Scoop ke dalam cawan kertas anda dan hiaskan dgn manik2 warna warni. Then biar coklat tu sejuk and kering baru transfer dlm balang kedap udara. Sempoi kan! Ada my friend tanye kenapa coklat dia tak lekat kat cornflakes...rasanya maybe butter anda terlebih dari ratio coklat. Ada juga kawan yg guna white chocolate...tapi katanya rasa sgt manis! org kelantan ckp manis leting haha....ok saya mmg tak penah try guna white choc sebab tau rasa dia manis semcm...mmg tak minat. Saya cuma buat 1 balang je biskut nih...tak sampai seminggu dah sold out...maka minggu ke-3 Ramadhan mama dgn hati yg tabah terpaksa repeat buat lagi sekali...terus dpt 2 balang, sealed and simpan!

Biskut #2 adalah cornflakes madu..my favourite! Resepi kali ni saya amik dari blog chef Hanieliza. Outcome mmg sedap!! Cuma saya kurangkan sukatan madu jadi 6tbs instead of 8tbs as per recipe. Biskut ni kena bakar, tapi bakar kejap je dlm 7-8 min..kalau lama sgt nanti biskut jadi keras..macam tahun lepas saya punyer agak keras kuikuikui. Cornflakes madu ni Ammar's most favourite...tiap2 hari ntah berapa ketul dia cilok dari tupperware tuh....lepas habis mkn dia akan sebut...hmmm memang manis! tu favourite tagline dia sekarang nih...ntah mane dia blajar saya pon tak pasti :p Biskut ni pon mmg sgt sempoi dan senang...bahan2 cuma butter, castor sugar, madu dan cornflakes. Last yr saya takde madu, so belasah substitute dgn golden syrup..boleh and jadik je :)

So next entry nnt saya share projek biskut #3 dan #4. Cukuplah 4 jenis je tahun nih..malas nk buat byk2. Minggu ni adalah minggu terakhir Ramadhan..jadi rasanya nak concentrate kemas rumah, dan iron stok baju byk2 hehe.

Huish lagi seminggu je nak raya..betapa cepatnya Ramadhan berlalu. Bagaimana check list dan achievement kita sepanjang Ramadhan ni...hmm sama-samalah kita imbas dan muhasabah diri. Kena sentiasa tazkirah diri ....sebab kita tak tahu, mungkin ini adalah Ramadhan terakhir buat kita. Hari ini ada forum perdana di office...ceramah terakhir bagi program Ramadhan tahun ni...mmg best bila dpt pegi ceramah nih..at least dpt ilmu, dan dpt kurangkan rasa mengantuk yg selalu melanda diri time lunch hour :p Ustaz2 yg datang pon sgt menghiburkan, cara penyampaian dan isi ceramah mmg menarik. Sekali sekala bila dapat menghadiri majlis ilmu di office nih, rasa sgt tenang minda nih. Yelah kat rumah mmg malas nak pegi program usrah atau ceramah di surau/masjid waktu weekend...jadi bila dpt selit hadirkan diri utk ceramah kat office...rasa bersyukur and beruntung sgt :))) Kurang2 intipati ceramah tu saya boleh share dgn kids dekat rumah...alhamdulillah.

Ikan siakap bakar tandoori style

Diam tak diam kita dah berada di minggu kedua Ramadhan..kejap je masa berlalu. Seperti tahun2 lepas, di bulan Ramadhan saya akan jadi extra rajin, pasang niat utk masak sendiri utk berbuka dan kurangkan aktiviti bersai'e di bazar Ramadhan hehe. Alhamdulillah so far KPI masih lagi cemerlang..cuma sekali je skip masak atas sebab2 yg tidak dpt dielakkan :p

Actually pengalaman membeli di bazar Ramadhan 2 hari lepas sangatlah tidak manis utk di recall. Salah satu juadah yg kami beli adalah pasembor, tapi bila nak panaskan kuah, masya Allah kuah tu keras berketul2 macam jeli! Kami suspek mesti dia bubuh terlalu byk tepung jagung utk pekatkan kuah...tapi terlebihhhhh tepung sampaikan dia jadi keras isk isk. Sedih giler time tuh...hubby mmg merungut..isk tak baik kalau berniaga buat macam nih :( Serik rasanya....tapi on a positive note ia memberi saya semangat utk terus merajinkan diri dan exceed the target KPI hehe :)

Seperti minggu2 yg sebelumnya hubby akan ke Tesco utk membeli barang basah. List barang saya yg provide (opss saya mmg takleh pegi Tesco, nafsu perempuan... benda2 yg tak patut pon sibuk nak beli!) dan salah satu yg saya pesan adalah cendawan! Tengah giler cendawan goreng tepung skarang ni :p Hubby beli organic mushroom, rupa dia gemuk2 belaka syiok tengok!

Siakap in action dlm magic pan! Siakap ni pon besar giler...kami makan hingga ke waktu sahur. Resepi siakap tandoori style ni saya google dari blog chef Hanieliza...tapi biasalah saya adjust and just make do with whatever bahan yg ada dalam fridge, measurement dia mmg saya tak amik...catit bahan2 jer :p Bhn2 dia: bwg besar, bwg putih, cili giling, serai, air asam jawa, belacan, garam gula...blend bawang, cili and serai tu, dan masak atas api kesemua bhn2 tu sampai masak. Ikut chef, ada byk lg bahan2 lain seperti daun kesum dan daun limau purut...ni mmg saya takde and omit :p Perap ikan dgn garam, kunyit dan sedikit pes ikan bakar tadi...dan bakar hingga masak.

Untuk taknak kasik ikan bakar tu terlalu kering, lebihan pes yg sudah dimasak tu saya tuang je ke atas ikan yg dah masak sebelum hidang. Jadi ikan bakar saya tidak kering :) Serai tu mmg membuatkan ikan bakar anda rasa umphh...kalau ada dedaun yg saya sebutkan tadi mesti lagi double triple upmhhh :)

Pengakuan ikhlas...ni lah pestaim saya buat air asam utk cicah ikan bakar. Selama ni tak pernah (or tak reti) buat haha. Sebelum tu saya buat talian hayat kat mak tanye apa bhn2 yg diperlukan...acik malas nk google ok :) Bahan2 dia - bwg besar, cili api, tomato, air asam limau, air asam jawa, sedikit belacan, garam dan gula. Guna air panas utk gaulkan kesemua bhn2 di atas. Measurement? As usual semua saya belasah je..mujur rasa ok! hehe

Cendawan organik goreng tepung in action!! Rasa dia lebih kurang je kot macam cendawan biasa. Tapi texture dia lebih kenyal dan pejal, cantik, dan kurang bau. Bila mkn pon terasa sihat haha pshyco plak rasa :p

anak2 kami agak kureng mkn ikan...so saya buat ayam goreng rempah utk mereka.....dan si putih2 comel gebu2 tu haaaa cuba teka ape dia???? Saya post gambar ni di fb dan suruh kawan2 teka. Semua teka salah....antara jawapan yg diberi - buah melaka, badak berendam, kimchi (omg tini sabor jela jawapan ko nih), mochi (ok pestaim saya dgr mochi terus gugel nk tahu apa kebenda mochi nih hehe), cek mek molek, etc. Tersenyum bila baca komen kengkawan....tak sangka syiok pulak main teka teka di bulan pose ni :)

Dannnnnnn inilah dia jawapannya! Tong yuen yer nama benda putih tuh....diperbuat daripada beras pulut dan intinya adalah kacang merah. Hubby beli instant di Tesco 10 ketul RM5 (saya baru tahu ade jual benda nih) sebab saya dah ckp awal2 yang petang nanti nak buat bubur pulut hitam...oh hubby mmg sgt memahami sbb ni mmg favourite kami. Selalu mkn di Sweet Chat cafe...dekat Paparich pun ada jual. Kids mmg suka giler bubur pulut hitam tapi Tong Yuen derang tak reti nk makan...insya Allah petang ni saya akan buat lagi bubur ni for the second round :)

Resepi home made meatball

I made these sweeties on the first weekend of Ramadhan since we decided to go for Western on that day, after 3 consecutive days feasting ourselves with makanan Melayu :) This is my first time making my own meatball, and i'm telling you it was really easy peasy. Now let's take a peek at the ingredients and actions. Apart from meatball you can actually follow the same steps to make your very own chicken ball or fish balls. Simple and easy, especially for those mommies preparing healthy home-cooked food eg. soup for ur small tods :)

 MEATBALLS
minced meat - i use daging Ramly
onions

coarse black pepper
parsley - i don't hv one, so i substitute with daun sup hehe
salt to taste
flour

Actions:
1. cut the onion into small cubes.
2. slice parsley or daun sup very finely.
3. Mixed into your minced meat, add in some black pepper and salt.
4. form small balls and put some flour while making the balls to avoid it sticks to ur hand.

Wallahhh and that's it!! I then frozen my meatballs since it was still early in the morning :p
You can either grill your meatballs, or have them fried. In my case, i initially grill them using my magic pan (with lil dash of olive oil konon towards healthy cooking style :p) but then i found that it took me quite long and some more difficult to wait the balls to be fully cooked...asyik kena balik2 kan...malas punyer pasal (actually nak kejar masa sama!) i then transfer the balls into kuali and goreng!! oh yes i cheated a bit but okla at least dah buat meatball sendiri tu pon dah kira satu achievement heeeeeeee :)

uhh nampak sedap dan fresh! ehh kena igt pose pose!!!

makan dgn brown sauce ala Ikea style...well my brown sauce doesnt taste exactly like ikea's version but still sedap (cuma termasin sket haha nasibla nama pon pose kan mana bley rasa haishhh!)

So these are what we had during that weekend. Spaghetti bolognese, instant pizza (brand tesco, haha cheat lagi but as u can see i am not a dough expert...mane rajin and pandai nk buat pizza base sendiri), mashed potato (see my earlier post), fries and meatballs with brown sauce and blueberry jam (ok Ikea guna strawberry jam but i dont have one at home...so blueberry pon sedap tauuu).

So if u want to make chicken balls, just use some chicken breast and blend them. For fish balls, am not too sure probably orang guna ikan tenggiri kot...kembung mesti tak sedap :p For confirmatory purpose sila google!

Grilled lemon butter chicken

One of the easiest recipe yet very tasty and healthy...wajib cuba tau, especially for those yg nak cut short cooking time for other menu. Maksudnya sambil bakar ayam ni dan biar ia masak di dlm oven, anda boleh concentrate utk masak menu lain :)

Grilled Lemon Butter Chicken

1. Potong carrot dan kentang...rebus hingga separa masak.
2. Perap ayam, carrot dan kentang bersama2 dengan butter, garam, fresh rosemary (kalau takde boleh replace dgn mixed herbs), dan bawang putih yg sudah ditumbuk. Perah 1/2 biji lemon ke atas ayam tadi...gaul rata.
3. Tuang sedikit olive oil ke dalam bekas/loyang yang sesuai.
4. Susun ayam dan sayur2 tadi di dalam bekas/loyang. Tutup dgn aluminium foil dan bakar selama 1jam++ depends pada oven anda.
5. Di akhir2 sesi bakar tu boleh bukak sket aluminium foil, taburkan bawang dan tomato dan continue bakar kejap utk kasi ayam garing.

Siap!!!

takdelah rajin sgt nak rebus potato dan lenyekkan2 dia...dah nama pon working moms kan semua benda kena buat dgn super fast dan efficient gitu. Instant mashed potato powder ni saya beli dekat gerai di ofis. Senang bangat sebab cuma perlu bancuh dgn air panas dan sedikit fresh milk...nak sedap bubuh garam and black pepper sket. Brown sauce dia pon dah ade siap...so bancuh dgn air panas jugak :)

Cendawan goreng tepung anyone?

Some of the working moms out there might running out of idea what to cook for iftar after we enter into the 2nd week of Ramadhan. As for myself, i stick to my very own iftar menu that i've made since few yrs ago as reference. It will be good if you can prepare your one-week menu upfront, easier to plan what to cook for that particular day and defrost your lauk so to speak. Also it works well when it comes to groceries shopping for the week :) Well my iftar menu was not as extravagant as others i bet. Simple and fast, that's the 2 basic principles for weekdays menu hehe. So no rendang or complicated menu is on the list definitely. On weekend, i'll normally prepare something extra like dessert or so, and stock it up to last for at least a week. So far we still haven't set foot to any bazar ramadhan nearby, and i think home-cooked meals are still the best even though it may appear so simple and lack of presentation :p So back to the title, i think many of you have try to make this so-called cendawan goreng tepung before. As for me, this is my first time and the verdict? ohh i just love it!! Simple, tasty and sounds very healthy hehe

My version of cendawan goreng tepung. Sprinkle some salt and black pepper onto the all purpose flour. Soak the mushroom inside your beaten egg, and coat with the flour mixture. Fry for few minutes until golden brown and that's it!
 
This is my eldest favourite i.e. sotong goreng tepung. So for yesterday's iftar i had a batch of cendawan goreng tepung, sotong goreng tepung, sotong masak kicap and tenggiri goreng bercili. Uhh fully-loaded but alhamdulillah no wastage :)

Resepi kek batik

Apart from cream caramel, kek batik has also become one of our main 'compulsory' dessert during Ramadhan. So our family will stick to these 3 types of regular - kek batik, cream caramel and popia goreng! After all my specialties are only limited to these kuih, so if you ask me to make kuih pelita ke kuih lapis ke lompang ke...ouccchhh i surrender and ask hubby to resort to bazaar ramadhan instead :p

Yesterday our company has invited Ustaz Syed Kadir Al-Joofre to give a special ceramah to all the staffs. Ceramah title is 'Merungkai Roh dan Hakikat Puasa' and i'm happy to share with all of you some of the gists taken from the ceramah :

- jangan biarkan nafsu menguasai akal fikiran kita, terutama bab makanan waktu berbuka. Jangan sampai buat jamak takhir time berbuka, yakni kita kumpulkan portion mkn waktu zohor, asar dan maghrib dan buka berkali-kali ganda dari yg sepatutnya!

- Antara sebab kenapa kita hanya bersemangat utk terawikh di awal minggu ramadhan, dan jadi semakin malas towards the final week of ramadhan adalah sebab jiwa dan minda kita yg penat, bukan fizikal. Fizikal masih kuat kerana kata ustaz, di waktu ptg mesti kita akan perform sai'e di bazar ramadhan...ulang alik dari satu hujung ke satu hujung...survey makanan :p Haa kalau boleh sai'e di waktu petang, kenapa jadikan alasan malas dan penat utk ke terawikh di waktu mlm?

- Kenapa di bulan ramadhan, kita mesti nak ada makanan yg special2? contohnya wajib ada murtabak (time ni sumer org gelak ok! Anyway saya so far masih lagi belum beli murtabak setakat ini hehe), air pulak mesti bancuh air yg berkaler-kaler...haha lawak ok tapi mmg benar dan menjadi amalan kebanyakan anggota masyarakat kita betul tak? konon air berkaler utk kasik tenaga...tapi ustaz kata, nasi yg kita mkn, mee tu ke..lauk pauk...kurma...haaa sumer tu adalah source of energy jugak betul tak? yerrr betul ustaz!

- antara sebab kenapa Allah turunkan agar Perang Badar terjadi pada 17 Ramadhan adalah sebab nak kasi para sahabat kumpulkan kekuatan rohani, fizikal dan mental sepanjang 16 hari mereka berpuasa. Jika mereka berjaya melawan segala nasfu, maka secara automatik fizikal mereka bertambah kuat..maka mmg terbukti para sahabat berjaya mengalahkan kaum kafir yg jumlahnya berkali ganda lebih ramai dari org Islam.

Ok sekian sahaja intipati tazkirah dari ustaz..maksud tazkirah adalah peringatan. Maknanya kena remind berkali-kali supaya kita ingat dan amalkan :)

 Now jom kita intai resepi kek batik yg saya nak share nih. Mmg resepi yg saya dah gunakan sejak berkurun lamanya (ewahhh takdela lama begitu sekali...saya masih muda lagik tauuu tapi analoginya begitulah!) and is surely a keeper :) Saya dah adjust tahap kemanisan dia...so mmg just nice dan tidak extreme manis gitu :)

KEK BATIK

3/4 cup butter
1/2 cup susu pekat
1 cup milo
1/2 cup nestum
biskut marie secukupnya

1. Cairkan butter. Tambah susu pekat, milo dan nestum...kacau rata dan tutup api.
2. Kemudian masukkan biskut marie yg dah dipecah2 kpd 4 (quartered).
3. Tuang biskut marie ke dlm bekas/loyang/tupperware dan tekan2 dgn plastik kasik rata/even.
4. Sejukkan for few hours.
5. Keluarkan sedikit awal sebelum potong...baca bismillah dan hadaplah secara bersederhana hihi

ok gambar ni agak comot...mmg dah tinggal separuh je ni dari adunan asal...tahan la utk seminggu bagi keluarga saya...dgn syarat sehari mkn 3-4 ketul jer hehe

Ni gambar lama...tak igt tahun lepas ke bila...regular customer cum kawan saya yg order nih..dia mmg peminat tegar kek batik...tahun ni ko buat sendiri tau!

Ok back to work. Actually hari ni sangatlah tidak best buat saya...pagi2 lagi dah kena marah dek bos besar disebabkan kesalahan pihak lain....kaw kaw saya kena tempiasnya sampai berair mata nih (tapi mujur masih control lagi..dan mujurlah hari ni pakai blouse baru Amani cewahh sempat promote!). Harapan saya hari esok dan seterusnya akan lebih baik dan tidak lagi berlaku peristiwa2 hampeh yg akan membuatkan saya stress bila dikenang-kenangkan :(

Resepi Cream Caramel & Popia Goreng

Cream caramel has always become our family's 'compulsory' dessert when it comes to the Holy month of Ramadhan. It is not too light like the normal plain jelly as it contains eggs as its main ingredients, and it is certainly soothing and seriously best eaten when cold :)

As far as i can remember, i've never bought cream caramel at the bazaar Ramadhan. Simply because the selling price is very expensive, as compared to the basic cost that one needs to incur to make one. So i resorted to home made cream caramel instead, since years ago. The recipe that i'm going to share afterwards is surely a keeper, as i've altered the original recipe few times before i end up with this final version :)

CREAM CARAMEL
4 eggs
1 can evaporated milk (susu cair)
3/4 cups sugar
1tsp vanilla essence
1tsp custard powder - it's ok if you dont have this in stock...the custard is used to make the caramel becomes yellowish, so kalau takde pon takper.
6tbp sugar - to caramelized and becomes the base

The Action:
1. Caramelize the sugar on your preferred mould (loyang - i normally use an 8' round pan) over low heat. Stir frequently and do not leave it unattended or you'll end up with 'burnt' caramel sugar hihi. Leave it at room temperature and let it set.
2. Mix the rest of ingredients in a separate bowl. Then pour onto your harden caramel.
3. Cover your mould with aluminium foil, and steam for 25-30minutes.

The caramelized sugar will melt automatically after you finish the steaming process. You can just pour the melted caramel on top of your pudding and adjust its sweetness to your liking..nak suka manis tuang la byk caramel...if u are pretty much concern on your diabetic ker reduce kan the caramel yer!

My caramel normally can last for 4-5 days...so normally i'll do over the weekend and have it stock for weekdays buka pose consumption :) Save duit tak payah beli pencuci mulut dekat bazaar yg belum pasti rasanya sedap ke tidak :)

Our next 'compulsory' pencuci mulut is popia goreng. Apparently my father in law also loves my version of popia goreng...uhhh rasanya dah lama tak buat utk family di Kedah :(

The steps are very easy, only that the preparation time takes longer than the normal kuih as you need to cook the inti, then put inside the kulit popia and fold it nicely. Byk steps tuh :p You can cut down the whole preparation time if u have a daughter in the house to assist you to cabut the kulit popia one by one...but as for the mom of all boys like me, i am lucky to have mr hubby to take up the job scope last week :)

My version of popia goreng - scramble egg, chicken, prawn, togey, carrot and kacang buncis. Tumis dgn bawang merah and putih, put some white pepper, salt to taste...and that's it!

the fried ones....sedapppp! Bertambah sedap kalo pair dgn sos pencicah dari kelantan tuh...rasa manis2 pedas gitu :) errkkk terliur plak bila tgk gambar nih...ok got to off now...till then!

From Lancelin to Jeju?

Last weekend during night time after I've done with folding the clothes and ironing, i thought that i should browse through my old collection of photobook. Well i had 4 in total so that's kind of justified enough be called as 'collection' i guess :p

The kids were busy attending to their iPad, tv was on but since i'm not a tv-type person except for certain malay drama and my favourite korean drama, then watching tv wasn't really my option to kill the time before bedtime. So let's just browse the photobook then! And see what we've been up to and places we've been going to for the past few years.

Somehow i landed to this picture and the memory kicks in!

Us at the King's Park. It just felt like yesterday we were walking and climbing the park, embracing through the rain drops and sedikit 'ribut' that morning before we finally reached the park phewwwww. This picture is one of my favourite amongst all. It looks as if we were part of the oversea students taking pic and send it over to the daily newspaper hoping that our picture will appear in their column with ucapan 'Selamat Hari Raya' buat kaum keluarga dan sahabat handai di Malaysia! Verangannnn! isk isk

oh there you go...part of my geng lunch!! L-R : Semah, me, Aini and Farra. Little Maher obviously was not part of ahli geng lunch though :p We all really had fun during those days. We walked 'hampir separuh pengsan' from King's Park to the Harbour Town on our last day, dalam keadaan cuaca yg macam nak ribut dan angin sejuk yg bertiup hingga ke tulang hitam ...we finally made it. Rasa macam nak menjerit bila nampak building Harbour Town tuh!

Oh reminiscence of the old memory was not actually the highlight of today's entry.

The Geng Lunch will make its way to Seoul next year!!! Phewwwittttt!

Berbaloi2 bangun berjemaah pukul 4am to book the flight. Seriously we were busy 'whatspp-ing' and getting through the website to ensure we got the best deal. Paling penting, to make sure everyone booked on the same date and time! haha serius tense ok pagi tuh. I was the last one that managed to finish the booking...itula kunci alarm pukul 4am tapi bangun pukul 4.15am sape suruh :p

The same Perth clan will be travelling again together and this time we chose Seoul and Jeju Island as our next pit stop.

Why did i say pit stop?

Because i hope this is not going to be the last destination and i wish we could venture to more other places in the next few years ahead. Insya Allah :) Kata orang, dream big... aim high! cewahhh :p

I foresee the next trip will be super duper fan (and chaotic i must say!) as we have additional members registered into the group i.e. my brother (ishhh sibuk je dahla dia sorang lelaki bujang hoho) and semah's brother in law's family.

So in total we will end up with 13 adults and 12 kids. Enough to rock the plane i suppose!

It's still a long way to go, but it's good to get prepared early for ease of arrangement, reservation and what nots. Paling penting, a proper 'kitab' is required to be in place so that you can plan ahead how much to save per month from now...haha

So from today onwards.........

IT'S RESEARCH TIME FOR EVERYONE YERR!!!!

Sukaneka Tadika Nur Addin, Salam Ramdhan, menu iftar :)

Panjangnya tajuk!
Kata orang, tajuk melambangkan isi kandungan. Jadinya meh kita consolidate dlm a single entry, senang kan hehe

Sukaneka Tadika Nur Addin yang ke-7 dibuat pada hari Ahad lepas. Alhamdulillah cuaca dah ok, tidak lagi jerebu, jadi sukan berlangsung dgn lancar walaupun cuaca amatlah panas terik huhu. Kali ni Firas dlm team pasukan merah, tema atau logo sorakan mereka 'Red is the champion!'. Uhh di akhir acara, mmg pasukan rumah Merah yg menang jadi juara...congrats my dear!

Malu2 pulak si bujang sorang nih bila suruh posing. Kat rumah bila kami tanya masuk acara apa, dia kata takde apa2. Tapi di hari kejadian, lerr rupanya ade dekat 5-6 acara yg dia kena masuk!

Dari Idlan 3 tahun, sehinggalah sekarang Firas dah 5 tahun, kami masih setia bersama Tadika Nur Addin. Maknanya dah nak masuk 5 tahun anak2 kami dididik oleh cikgu2 di Addin. Alhamdulillah mmg kami puas hati dgn tadika nih, walaupun cikgu2 yg best seringkali bertukar ganti...tapi pengetua mereka tetap komited utk pastikan anak2 yg dihantar ke sini berjaya :)

tolong abah tolong!!!! Budak ni tergedik2 kena geletek. 

Byk lagi gambar lain dlm kamera, malas pulak nak transfer. Tapi kesimpulannya Firas punya pasukan dpt no. 1, so dptlah bwk balik gold medal. Abg Idlan agak jeles di situ, sebab dulu dia cuma penah dpt silver medal jer hihi 

Ok diam tak diam, kita dah masuk ke hari ke-3 Ramadhan...cepat kan! Alhamdulillah so far aku tak kena migrain, berkat dan hikmah bulan ramadhan tu sendiri i guess. Kalau tidak first day pose selalu kena rekod migrain :( Firas pulak buat pertama kali digalakkan berpuasa oleh cikgu2 tadika. Pesan cikgu, mereka takkan menyediakan makanan utk budak 5 dan 6 tahun, jadi mak pak kena suruh anak pose. Kalau tak larat, barulah boleh mintak kat cikgu utk berbuka. Jadi abah akan suap Firas siap2 sebelum ke tadika, dan so far dia berpuasa dari jam 8am sampailah ke 530pm. Bila aku atau si abahnya ambil dari tadika waktu petang, balik rumah tu terus dia bukak puasa makan koko krunch dan susu. Kira oklah tu, mmg good boy! Actually aku agak kesian nak suruh dia puasa betul2, sebab si bujang ni kurus yg amat...15kg je ok...kalo pose full mesti lagi kurus huhu. Ammar pulak bila ditanya 'ammar pose tak'...laju je dia jawab 'Ammar puasha lahhh!' tapi sambil jawab sambil gonggong botol susu :p

Popia frozen!! Aku buat ni wiken lepas, konon nak stock up utk bulan pose, tapi sebelum start pose dah habis separuh :p Takper wiken ni insya Allah akan ku buat lagi byk..caiyo caiyo!
 
mmg terbaik! ehh bukan perasan tau...tapi at least rasanya way much better dari yg dijual kat pasar mlm tuh. Sebab inti dia ku bubuh ayam, telur, togey, dan carrot. Esok nak tambah kacang buncis. Nak lagi sedap bubuh udang. Tapi kids ni masalahnya kalo tgk byk vege derang mesti reject punyer. Either tak layan terus, atau derang akan korek buang segala sayur-sayuran tu and susun tepi pinggan :(
 
Menu ramadhan day 1 - ayam masak merah feveret kids, sayur sawi, kobis & carrot masak lemak & telur dadar. Kuih pulak hubby import dari tepi tasik kat rumah kami hehe...en hubby mmg hantu kuih muih...isteri dia pulak tak reti nk buat kuih2 tradisional nih...kalo suruh buat carrot cake bley lah! hehe

Menu day 2 - sotong and udang goreng tepung (hubby ckp sedapppp giler pish posh pish posh kembang si isteri :p)
Dan juga ikan bawal masak kari. 
Kids langsung tak layan lauk ikan isk isk nampak gaya depa ni mmg hantu ayam jer huhu dilema betul si mama takkan nak masak lauk ayam je everyday??

Alhamdulillah di bulan ramadhan nih company kami kasik staff keluar pukul 430pm, so by 530pm dah boleh sampai rumah. Mandi2 and solat asar, kemudian terus berperang di dapur. By 715pm insya Allah dah siap masak. Tapi masalah bagi kami yg kerja di KL ni, kalau keluar lewat sikit je pon dah jem yg amat. Jadi kebanyakan dari kami dah ciow pukul 4.25pm hihi. Hey jgn tak tahu even one minute makes a lot of difference tau!!

Kepada kengkawan tersayang, Selamat Berpuasa yer. Moga kita semua kekal sihat, dan dpt menjalani ibadah puasa dgn lancar dan sempurna. Azam ku utk melaksanakan terawikh setiap mlm, solat dhuha setiap pagi, dan kalo boleh nak cuba khatam Al-Quran...kalau tak dpt khatam dpt habiskan 15-20 juzuk pon kira dah syukur :)
